Imagine going to see Bruce Springsteen and only thinking about Donald Trump, then snitching on yourself in the New York Times.

Unreal dork shit. Please make sure you’ve flushed Twitter out of your brain before you see live music.
Anyways, here are the best songs of the week. As always, you can follow along on our playlists on Spotify and Apple Music, which update every Tuesday along with the newsletter.
Jessy Lanza - Don’t Leave Me Now
“Don’t Leave Me Now” is a shining, buoyant bop that knows the easiest way to keep a song afloat is to never have too many things happening at once. Alternating between a big, playful bassline and house piano chord pulses, Lanza’s vocals dance delicately over the song’s ebullient beat. It’s the happiest song you’ve ever heard inspired by almost being hit by a car!
Tyler, the Creator – WHAT A DAY
This bonus track from Tyler’s CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST: The Estate Sale deluxe album would be a treat even if it was instrumental, thanks to one of Madlib’s best beats in recent memory. A whistling Moog hangs in the background of Tyler’s verses, and an ethereal vocal sample provides just enough of a chorus to keep the track’s afternoon clouds from entirely clearing up. Bonus: Tyler flexing on no product placements in his music videos is the…new product placement in music videos flex?
Altin Gün – Çıt Çıt Çedene
Ripping Anatolian grooves from Turkish rockers Altin Gün’s new album Aşk. It sounds like it could be ripped from 1973, but because the grooves are so deadly, nothing ever sounds derivative – the bass pocket is deadly, and the band commits to a deep pocket and never let go.
Le Pain – Rachel Veut Danser
Le Pain is an LA-based group with members from Yucky Ducky and Public Practice, but they hail from a timeless post-Kraftwerk, pre-internet dancefloor luxury that finds the midpoint between Stereolab and the Whitest Boy Alive. In “Rachel Veut Danser,” everything is awash in disco lemonade, but through a Polaroid haze.
Chloë & Future – Cheatback
I’m just including this just because it’s super weird hearing Future do his Future thing over 90’s coffeeshop guitars. Just imagine seeing him do this at your local Java Junction.

Belle & Sebastian – Seymour Stein
An ode written by the only member of the band who *hadn’t* met Seymour Stein, based on the night he courted the band pre-Tigermilk to sign to Sire. RIP to a legend.
